3 Free Agents New Jersey Devils Should Still Consider

The New Jersey Devils could add one of the free agents still available.

The New Jersey Devils have a pretty nice group of players developing in their system. Well, there are a few of them that are ready to go at the NHL level. By ready to go, we mean that they are ready to start producing big numbers at the NHL level in an effort to help this team win hockey games. Names like Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier come to mind first, but players like Jesper Bratt, Ty Smith, and Alexander Holtz could be big as well.

In order to help them feel good about their games once they reach the NHL, they need to be surrounded by players who have been around the block. There are already a few good veterans on the Devils to help like Kyle Palmieri, Travis Zajac, and P.K. Subban, but they could always use a few more.

The Devils have already been pretty active so far this offseason. They made trades that allowed them to acquire Andreas Johnsson and Ryan Murray from the Toronto Maple Leafs and Columbus Blue Jackets respectively. They have also made one heavy hit in free agency by adding two-time Stanley Cup champion, Corey Crawford. Free agency can be a dangerous game, but that two-year deal they gave Crawford feels like one that they will see benefit them in the long run.

Many people believe that the Devils are not done yet. There are still a couple of issues that they might want to work on to fill out their roster for 2020-21 and free agency could be a way to do that along with help the younger players feel good about themselves.
