Mikael Granlund has had a pretty up and down career as far as statistics are concerned. He was drafted in the 1st round of the 2010 NHL Draft by the Minnesota Wild. He was quickly given a big role, which gave him some experience both in the regular season and postseason. He has even come up clutch with his playmaking and goal scoring many times throughout his career with the Wild.

He was traded to the Nashville Predators in the middle of the 2018-19 season in a trade that saw Nashville fleece the Wild. He wasn’t in contention to lead Nashville in scoring while he was there, but he was a pretty solid player in all three zones for them. When he is on the ice at even strength, there is a good chance his team is going to outshoot their opponent.

The nice thing about Granlund is that he can play every forward position. That makes him very useful to the New Jersey Devils. With Lindy Ruff as their head coach, they are sure to play a more up-tempo game which feeds into the hands of a player like Granlund. If both parties were interested, he would make a great fit on this young New Jersey team. At 28 years old, he isn’t too old to help them but he has been around enough to help them develop their younger players.
