The New Jersey Devils have a fantastic fanbase that cares deeply about its team.
The New Jersey Devils are a proud team with a rich history. Things haven’t gone their way over the past few seasons but it is clear that things are trending upwards. There are a couple of very good young assets in their organization right now that are just waiting to break out. To be there to witness it all is something we can only hope for right now, but when that time comes, you know the fans will be there.
FanSided 250’s ranking of fanbases is out and it gives some respect to the Devils. They aren’t at the top of the mountain like the New York Yankees or Los Angeles Lakers, but they are a respected group of fans. Once the team really starts to play well on the ice, they might even crawl up the ranking even more in the future.
For 2020, Devils fans rank 238th out of 250. They are the 15th highest ranked NHL team. They have the respect of the list makers in terms of NHL teams. Just because a team has a bigger fanbase doesn’t mean it’s a better fanbase. That is what this list proves. Devils fans care deeply about their team and are quite vocal about it. Not all of them are the most optimistic people in the world but everyone can be a fan in their own way, as long as they’re a fan.
Not every NHL team made this list in the top 250 but there are a few teams that did but are ranked lower than New Jersey. Perhaps the most surprising is the Montreal Canadiens. One of the first teams in NHL history surely has a great and passionate group of fans but they felt that the Devils are just a bit better this year.
Another team that is behind them that is surprising is the New York Rangers. Like the Habs, they are also an Original Six team that has a huge fanbase. Despite some of their recent success in the draft lottery and making it to the bubble, their fans aren’t as passionate as those pesky Devils fans. Hopefully, New Jersey is able to keep this up as the team starts to get better. It is always good to see this team and their fans get recognized.
