Montreal Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens are another team on the playoff bubble that’s trying to fight for one of the final spots. They’ve fired their head coach, and they made moves that rebuilding teams usually make, but they are right in the thick of a playoff race. They currently have a one-point lead with four games at hand on the Vancouver Canucks. They are in the driver’s seat to make the postseason.

Honestly, the Canadiens are probably calling about Sami Vatanen, but they will love to talk about a puck stopper like Ryan Murray.

The Canadiens might have been a mess at times this season, and they have Victor Mete sitting in the owner’s box for some reason, but they could use an upgrade on the blue line. Xavier Ouellet hasn’t been playing well, and the Canadiens could us an upgrade on the bottom line. If they deal with one injury on the left side, it could spell doom for the Canadiens.

Murray would give them necessary depth on the blue line. The coaches don’t trust Ouellet. Murray would only cost the Canadiens a mid-round pick. Right now, the Canadiens have two 2nd-round picks, three 3rd-round picks, three 4th-round picks, and three 5th-round picks in the 2021 NHL Draft. They have the capital to give the Devils the best possible offer. They could offer a 3rd and a 4th and it wouldn’t even leave a dent into their draft pick depth.
