The New Jersey Devils have two affiliates in the Utica Comets and the Adirondack Thunder. In the AHL, some teams get a little creative with their alternate jerseys, but the Devils affiliate never really thought outside the box. However, in the ECHL, teams can get a little crazy. The Thunder shared a crazy version of their jersey and some people seem to be into it.

So, here’s what we’re seeing on these jerseys. We have a blue, yellow, and purple pattern. It looks like one of those line paintings. It’s honestly a little mesmerizing. Is it… good? No way, right?

The jersey is obviously an homage to Daniel Flashes’ shirt in the show “I Think You Should Leave”. This exact design led Vulture to call the Netflix show’s design the “shirt of the summer”.

It’s clear this is just meant to be a funny gag, but people seem to be into it. This “I Think You Should Leave” show is one of the hits people can’t stop talking about. It’s fun when the local team thinks outside the box, and the Thunder are doing that here. Maybe with the excitement behind the jersey, the Thunder think this could be a money-making venture.

Apparently, the show paid $500 just for the design of the shirt, and they only used it for a TV show and not to sell. There are options for the button-down shirt on Etsy, but those might not exactly be regulated. The Thunder would have to spend a lot of money to make something like this happen, but we could dream, right?
