The Athletic’s Corey Pronman has ranked the pipeline of all 32 NHL teams. He was very kind to the New Jersey Devils as they ranked them as the number six team in the NHL in that regard. In 2020, they were ranked second which is nicer but still being at six is awesome. They have a lot of very good talented players that have a chance to be stars at the NHL level and some great prospects that they hope follow them.

Of course, at the NHL level, things start and end with Nico Hischier and Jack Hughes. The Devils are really hoping that both of them take a big step. If that happens, they will turn the corner as an organization. If they don’t, all of this will be for not. Luckily, they both have taken major strides along the way and look like they have elite potential.

As for the other young players at the NHL level, there are a lot. Players like Ty Smith, Mackenzie Blackwood, Jesper Bratt, Janne Kuokkanen, and Yegor Sharangovich are easy to get excited about. It is going to be fun seeing them all grow together with Hischier and Hughes leading the way.

Now, players like Luke Hughes, Alex Holtz, Reilly Walsh, Nolan Foote, and Dawson Mercer lead the way for the future prospects. They are big reasons why the Devils sit with the sixth-best pipeline according to The Athletic. We can only hope that they are right as this team starts to move forward with all these young players.

The New Jersey Devils prospects are amongst some of the best in the league.

Directly ahead of them are some really good pools of young players. At five is the Los Angeles Kings. That team hasn’t been great for a while but there is some help on the way. Don’t be surprised if the Kings are a really good team in a few years.

1-4 are all in the Eastern Conference so the Devils will have to see them a lot. Four is the New York Rangers and three is the Carolina Hurricanes. That means that the Metropolitan Division is loaded with upcoming talent if three of the teams are in the top six. Number two is the Ottawa Senators and number one is the Buffalo Sabres.

There are some interesting rankings there. You may or may not agree with them but there is no denying that they are all loaded with good players. We just have to hope that these young Devils’ prospects are able to make it to the show one day and make an impact. We will see soon enough.
