The New Jersey Devils needed a bounce-back game from Jonathan Bernier after he had a rough start to his New Jersey Devils career. The team was expected to give him the full game on Friday against the New York Rangers, and he showed up for the home team. It was the first game at the Prudential Center, and Bernier put on a show.

The headlines at the end of the day might talk about a decent day from the special teams or Tomas Tatar scoring a really nice goal as his first with the Devils, but this save by Bernier is the one that people will be watching on loop for the next week. And he deserves all the recognition for making it.

Steve Cangialosi’s reaction was amazing.

"Open net, they score. No! Somehow Bernier got over. Oh, my eyes fooled me Kenny.”"

On the other angle, we can actually see what happened. Bernier was able to get over, put his glove out, and he stopped the puck in its tracks. It’s one of the best saves you will ever see.

Bernier showed he was able to make things happen even when he is hung out to dry. It happened multiple times on Friday night, but as of the middle of the third period, his only blemish was a no doubter off the stick of Mika Zibanejad.
