Every year, we look at what the Armchair GM trade proposals look like that involve the New Jersey Devils. Some might say it’s just looking at the crazy fan proposals that have no credence, but it’s actually a good barometer for what fans of other teams value the Devils’ assets. Sometimes they are crazy, and we usually skip those, but there are some that make us think about it long and hard.
Sometimes, a person will look to make a superstar trade that involves a lot of major assets. Others might be trades to make both teams better in one way or another. There is a lot of reshuffling of assets. Either way, it’s all in good fun.
We took a look at many trades and picked some of our favorites. They aren’t our favorites because they are favoring the Devils, but a lot of them gave us very intriguing terms to consider. Some might take us out of our comfort zone, and that is one of the main reasons for the exercise. How far are the Devils willing to go during the trade deadline to reshuffle the deck?
The Devils are one of the most intriguing teams at the deadline. They have a lot of interesting pieces, and apparently, some surprising ones are available. We didn’t talk about Jesper Bratt in any of these deals because, well, nobody would be willing to give up what it would take to get him at this point. However, there are some huge names “traded” in these deals, and it’s interesting to see what people think of our players.
