The New Jersey Devils could turn this into a blockbuster type of trade.

So the Devils apparently like Brock Boeser. Of course, they do. There isn’t anything not to like about a guy who can score anywhere from 25-35 goals in any given season. Playing with someone like Jack Hughes could be incredible for him.

Now, imagine pairing him with Connor Garland in a trade. The Devils would be adding two wingers that can score lots of goals to their group. With Alexander Holtz on the way, this would be more than just a top-six improvement. It would be a top-nine improvement.

Unfortunately, the Devils would have to give up a fair amount to land a trade like this. There are cap issues for Vancouver so it might not be as much if money was no issue but it would still be a lot.

Ty Smith and Nolan Foote are two good young players that can impact the NHL if their development continues on the right path. In the case of Foote, he has yet to stick in the NHL but his very good shot and ability to score could be intriguing for Vancouver.

Smith would be the headliner in the trade as far as Vancouver is concerned. He is a first-round draft pick defenseman that has a really nice NHL ceiling. He had a brilliant rookie year but this season hasn’t gone very well for him. However, it is fair to expect a comeback season and really nice career going forward. Both teams could do well with this trade.
