The New Jersey Devils could also make a lighter trade with Vancouver as well.

The New Jersey Devils are a really young team that needs some goal-scoring depth and goaltending. They probably won’t add goaltending from the Canucks but Thatcher Demko may or may not become available. That is a story for another day, however, as that hasn’t been in the rumors right now.

For the goal scoring, the Devils could just go back to Connor Garland. They would need to give up less if they weren’t landing Boeser in the trade so maybe it is something to consider if they want to be just a bit more reserved. They can always reevaluate the situation after the season ends.

Giving up Miles Wood won’t be easy. He hasn’t played at all yet in 2021-22 but he is close to coming back. We don’t know what version of him is coming back so it is a risk for both sides if they were to make the trade right now.

McLeod is someone who can be a good bottom-six forward. He is hard to play against, wins lots of faceoffs, and chips in offensively every now and again. He would fit in nicely there and the Devils might need to ship him off in order to complete a trade.

We don’t really know if New Jersey is going to go through with it and make a trade with the Vancouver Canucks but it is certainly something to consider. Hopefully, whatever happens, leads to more success for the Devils.
