The New Jersey Devils after the massive heater to start the year slowed down but currently are sitting second in the Metropolitan Division with a record of 26-12-3 good for 55 points. This is where fans want to see the team and what they have been working for, despite the road bumps recently so all in all we should be happy with the season so far.

Jack Hughes
Goals: 26 Assists: 23 Points: 49

The Jack attack has been in full force all season, and it is hard to remember a time when a Devils player has been this good and scored this much. Jack Hughes is a bonified superstar and drives the game on a nightly basis. It is not an exaggeration to say without him this team would be a dumpster fire. Playmaking was always his thing, but his shot has improved to a degree that he should be looked at as a sniper first now. If he can keep up this pace he will challenge Brian Gionta for the team goals record.

Overall Rating: A+

Nico Hischier
Goals: 19 Assists: 21 Points: 40

The captain is on pace for his first point a game season and is only two goals away from his career high with 41 games remaining in the season. The defensive game has always been there, but with his contract, the team needed more points. He has delivered giving the Devils more than just a pair of offensive threats and the ability to run an actual top-six. He has also taken a beating from opposing teams this year and shows a lot of heart playing through some pain.
