Maybe the San Jose Sharks just want a lot of New Jersey Devils prospects.

As far as the non-obvious untouchable players, the Devils should stay far away from trading Dawson Mercer, Luke Hughes, and Simon Nemec. All three of those guys could provide so much value to this team going forward.

Timo Meier coming to New Jersey would only be nice if he were joining this team with everyone good that they have right now. This is developing into a really nice team for the New Jersey Devils and they can’t ruin it.

In addition to the first round pick, the Sharks can look for lower (but still very good) prospects but want a lot of them. Adding in four along with the first rounder would be hard for New Jersey to do but it might be worth it if Meier continues to be a high-octane winger.

Graeme Clarke, Reilly Walsh, Seamus Case, and Kevin Bahl are all great players but could be in the mix for a deal like this. Again, as long as the price is right, this could be a great trade for New Jersey.

Meier would look good with Jack Hughes. He’d look good with Nico Hischier. Hey, you can even put him with Haula and have an Olympian on every line. No matter what, he’d make a great addition to this team for a variety of reasons.
