This New Jersey Devils season has been everything we could have ever hoped for and more. Instead of being a below-average team as they have been for years, they are a playoff team.

They aren’t just some team on the right side of the playoff bubble either, they enter the final game of the regular season with a chance at the second-best record in the National Hockey League.

If you are entering the final game of the season wondering what the point of watching knowing that the playoffs are a lock, there are plenty of reasons to be tuned in.

In fact, there are quite a few reasons to be watching the final game of the season. These are the three biggest reasons to be tuned in:

1. Jack Hughes’ quest for 100

Jack Hughes has a chance to be the first 100-point scorer in Devils’ history.

Jack Hughes broke the record for the most points in a single season by a New Jersey Devils player. That record belonged to Patrik Elias, who is considered to be the greatest forward in the history of the team. Clearly, that is something for Hughes to be proud of.

It was nice that Jack got to break that record in the game his brother Luke Hughes made his NHL debut. It was one of the great moments in franchise history.

Now, Jack could have more on his mind. If he finds a way to get three points in the final game of the season, he will reach the 100-point plateau for the first time in his career. Obviously, he’d be the first Devil to ever do that.

Of course, a lot of people believe that Jack will do this a bunch of times in his career, but that first one is always special. Getting it at 21 years old would be really cool to see. Asking him to get three points is a lot, but if anyone can do it, it’s him.
