The New Jersey Devils won a big game on Tuesday night, coming back from a 4-2 deficit in the third period to beat the New York Islanders 5-4 in regulation. The win over their division rival could be the turning point for the Devils season. It put the team over hockey .500 and the win actually has them in fourth place in terms of points percentage (sixth place in actual points).

It was a banner night for the Devils. Both Nico Hischier and Jack Hughes scored goals. Curtis Lazar scored the game winner with less than 30 seconds left. Akira Schmid seems good enough to be the starter. This was a great night to be a Devils fan.

It was so good, many wanted to celebrate. It makes sense for the New Jersey landmarks to want to celebrate, but even New York City was getting into the act. The Empire State Building, possibly New York’s most famous attraction, lit up in red for the New Jersey Devils.

Seeing the Empire State Building lit up in red and knowing it’s for the Devils is a wonderful sight. New York Rangers fans have nothing to celebrate this week, and the Islanders just lost to the Devils. Looks like, at least for one night, the Devils were the kings of the New York Metropolitan Area.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen the Empire State Building clad in Devils red, but this TikTok video is a little more disturbing than the real thing. We’ll take the lights after a big win like this. Go Devils!
