3. Sports Illustrated Stadium
Harrison, NJ
Formerly known as Red Bull Arena, the New Jersey Devils could play in a soccer stadium that is known for some of the rowdiest (in a fun way) fans in MLS. Sports Illustrated Stadium is also incredibly loud during Red Bulls games. They really get the most out of their 25,000 capacity. Fans love them some soccer, with its chants and sing-alongs.
And the New Jersey Devils fans know all about sign-alongs. So, they can bring that hockey energy to a soccer stadium and see what happens when they collide.
To make things even better, the Devils and Hurricanes can face off in this game, knowing there will be blows and the crowd will be insane. Of course, the league would love another Devils-Rangers matchup, but we need to get the Devils and their other biggest rival going. After how the Devils and Hurricanes last matchup went, and the ensuing chaos that kept going on social media after Timo Meier’s hit on Martin Necas, putting this in a soccer stadium would be so fun.
The NHL has been trying to enter different types of stadiums. Soccer stadiums in the U.S. would be a good opportunity to find synergy in the leagues.
