Isaac Poulter
New team: Winnipeg Jets
Goaltender Isaac Poulter did not receive a qualifying offer from the Devils, so he became an unrestricted free agent. Subsequently, the Winnipeg Jets signed the 23-year-old to a one-year two-way deal for 2025-26. In 36 games with the Utica Comets last season, Poulter had a 2.86 GAA and a .898 SV%. He has yet to make his NHL debut.
The Devils’ goaltender depth chart is crowded. Nico Daws, Jakub Malek, Tyler Brennan, and Jeremy Brodeur are all in the mix within the organization. Mikhail Yegorov will continue developing with Boston University. Daws is now an odd man out after Jake Allen signed a five-year deal this summer to remain the Devils’ backup goalie behind Jacob Markstrom.
Letting Poulter go made a lot of sense for the Devils. He wasn’t going to have a clear role moving forward. He will have a better chance to grow elsewhere.
Nolan Foote
New team: Florida Panthers
The Devils also chose not to qualify restricted free agent Nolan Foote, allowing the winger to become an unrestricted free agent. The 24-year-old then signed a one-year two-way contract with the Florida Panthers. He had been with the Devils organization since 2020.
Foote had some opportunities with the Devils but never broke through. He played in seven games with the Devils in 2024-25 and a total of 30 games over five seasons. He has played in 191 AHL games. A change of scenery could do him some good. It’s likely he’ll continue to spend significant time in the AHL.
In case you didn’t realize, these three players are no longer with the Devils organization. There’s still time this summer for more changes to be made.
