2. Taylor Hall
I had mentioned in a previous piece that Taylor Hall should be someone the Devils should consider for scoring depth help. Regardless of how some fans may feel about his departure from New Jersey, he can come here and be a good fit for the player he is now. He's been playing very well since the trade rumors came out. He has produced four goals and six assists in his last seven games. This includes an impressive hat trick two weeks ago in Chicago
He also still has some speed and pace to his game and that would fit in well in Sheldon Keefe's system. If paired on a third line with guys like Erik Haula and Dawson Mercer, that could be yet another line that can find ways to score while having speed and a bit of grit. He's another UFA who is making $6 million this season. Like Palmieri, there will have to be retention, but it's a viable option nonetheless.
