4 depth scoring targets that could take New Jersey Devils over the top

While the New Jersey Devils are mostly set, it's clear that they need help with scoring depth. Here are a few options Tom Fitzgerald could look to for just that.

3. Frank Vatrano

Frank Vatrano would fit in particularly well in the bottom six if the Devils were to acquire him. He brings some good speed, but a nastiness to his physical game as well. Coming off a career year in which he potted 37 goals, he's had some struggles through 25 games so far with just six. However, the 31-year would help give a third line a bit of a scoring boost while willing to go into those tough areas and grind shifts out.

He's in the final year of his deal and is only making $3.65 million this campaign so there's more space to make a deal work without much retention. If the Ducks continue to stay towards the bottom of the league, they will be sellers again. If so, the Devils should call up Anaheim and try to make a Vatrano trade happen.
