Jesper Bratt is be one of the most productive Swedish players in the NHL
Another lock from the New Jersey Devils is Jesper Bratt. Not only will he be on Team Sweden, he will be one of the top offensive players on the team. He wasn’t one of the “first six” named but there is an argument to be made that he shouldn’t have been.
No Swedish player has more points so far this season than Bratt. In fact, he’s fifth in the entire NHL with 35 points. To say that he’s an elite scoring winger would be an understatement at this point.
If Sweden is going to have a chance at winning this thing, they will need a heavy dose of offensive production from Bratt who has been bringing that for the New Jersey Devils so far this year.
A smart strategy for Sweden would be for Bratt to play left wing with a guy like Elias Pettersson and/or William Nylander. There is a lot of magic that could be made with players like that leading the way.
Bratt is a wonderful story for the New Jersey Devils. For being a 6th-round pick, he has developed into a truly special player who brings a lot to whatever team he’s playing for. It will be great to see him participate in a tourney like this representing his country.
