5 terrible New Jersey Devils trade proposals from Vancouver Canucks fans

The New Jersey Devils, whether legitimate or not, have been tied to the Vancouver Canucks in trade talks. It makes sense, with possible targets in Elias Pettersson, J.T. Miller, Brock Boeser, and Conor Garland. So, we wanted to hear what Canucks fans want from New Jersey, and we were not disappointed in their lunacy.

So this one is basically combining all of the bad trades into one. Why not save everyone's time and just put all the crazy into one post? Let's try to treat this like a legitimate proposal.

The Canucks come to the table with two pieces. The Devils get Miller, who we've covered enough at this point, and Boeser, who the Canucks and its fanbase has been trying to sell at top dollar for what feels like half a decade. Boeser, by the way, is due to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, so he's a pure rental.

Oh, and there's no retention in this deal. The Devils are giving up just about every massive asset they have to get better on offense, but how much better? Losing Meier basically equals whatever positive you get from Miller at his best, which he hasn't been, and the rise from Mercer to Boeser is decent, but it's for one year and at a higher price tag.

So, in this person's mind, the Devils should give up Simon Nemec, a former second-overall pick who was drafted less than three years ago and had a good stint in the NHL last season, just to get a minimal upgrade on offense from Mercer to Boeser. Cool?
