5 terrible New Jersey Devils trade proposals from Vancouver Canucks fans

The New Jersey Devils, whether legitimate or not, have been tied to the Vancouver Canucks in trade talks. It makes sense, with possible targets in Elias Pettersson, J.T. Miller, Brock Boeser, and Conor Garland. So, we wanted to hear what Canucks fans want from New Jersey, and we were not disappointed in their lunacy.

This is one of those trade proposals where you can't help but just stare at the screen for a while and wonder what that person had for breakfast. Did they just eat a raw egg, shell and all? This is the most insane trade we've seen on the app that we can somewhat take seriously.

In this person's mind, J.T. Miller is wildly better than Nico Hischier today. He's also a better investment from an age and contract standpoint. That's what this trade says. Let's ignore the fact that if Nico Hischier was made available, he would immediately be the most desirable player on the market (Selke-caliber center who is good in the faceoff dot and can hit 80-90 points). Let's just take this trade proposal on its head.

Would Johnathan Kovacevic, one of the best defensive defensemen in hockey this season, plus Ethan Edwards and a late-round draft pick get close to what the Canucks are looking for in a Miller trade? Maybe the Devils would need to upgrade that sixth-round pick to a second-round pick, but that's it. Now adding Nico Hischier? This is psychotic.

We'll be honest, Noah Juulsen makes this trade even worse, somehow. Juulsen is a tweener defenseman that finally made it a full-time gig in the NHL at the age of 27. Adding him almost feels like throwing in a Sami Vatanen base card when trying to trade up for a Jack Hughes autograph. It's more insulting than anything.
