Thirty-five New Jersey organizations are sharing a $1.3 million award thanks to the Devils Youth Foundation. The charity arm of the New Jersey Devils helps organizations and charities across the state every year. This year, they've outdone themselves. They gave away their largest amount in the founation's history.
The Devils Youth Foundation is giving gifts to foundations that help local kids, young athletes, food banks, and medical centers. A full list of the recepients will be at the bottom of this article.
There were also 10 New Jersey students who were given $5,000 scholarships. The students are from all around the state. The high schools are from North Jersey (Secaucus, Hoboken), Central Jersey (East Brunswick, Manalapan), West Jersey (Trenton), and the Jersey Shore (Toms River).
It's great that the Devils make it a point to give back. They also make their legendary players a part of the fun. The Devils Youth Foundation taps Bruce Driver, Ken Daneyko, Travis Zajac, Andy Greene, Bryce Salvador and Martin Brodeur to help select the winners of the awards.
Since its inception, the Devils Youth Foundation has raised over $4.6 million dollars. Certain alumni events, like the MB30 Golf Invitational, Devils Sweep the Deck Gala, and Champions Gala, help create opportunities to raise these funds.
"At the Devils Youth Foundation, our mission is rooted in strengthening the communities we serve. This growth reflects our ongoing commitment to creating meaningful, lasting value, ensuring that youth across the state have real access to physical and mental wellness, food and nutrition security, the arts, and education. By continuing to raise the bar, we are expanding our reach and helping to build healthier, more resilient communities for generations to come."Allison Blitzer, Devils Youth Foundation
