New Jersey Devils star center Jack Hughes has not been able to bring his good luck and winning ways to his NHL team. Since Hughes returned with a gold medal, the Devils have lost two games in a row. It just continues their lackluster play that came before the Olympic break. Coming out of the break, the Devils were 11 points out of a playoff spot. Now, a few days later, they are 13 points out of a playoff spot. The season is basically cooked.
The focus remains on Hughes after he scored the Golden Goal. After more than a dozen interviews, a visit to the White House, and a raucous crowd at the Prudential Center on Wednesday night, Hughes made an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on Friday and hit a roller hockey shot worth $100,000 to a charity of his choice.
Throughout the weekend, Hughes is expected to continue his media tour with appearances on Saturday Night Live and then eventually a spot on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Hughes is the star coming out of the Olympics, possibly more than Alysa Liu, who won the gold medal for women’s ice skating.
With all of the positive media Hughes is attracting, he is going to get himself stuck in some crazy rumors. Most of the time, those rumors are ignored. There’s so much going around social media at all times; people are going to pull things out of nowhere.
However, Hughes is going to get put in rumors that might sound somewhat believable. Then there’s that middle ground where the rumors shouldn’t be believable, but the information continues to spread. Sometimes, even the biggest outlets will address the rumors.
A rumor started to spread around international news outlets that Jack Hughes was getting married this weekend. Was he getting married to superstar singer Tate McRae? Nope! Instead, he was marrying Ayesha Arora.
She is a billionaire Indian heiress who is marrying someone this weekend. Unfortunately for her, or Hughes, the Devils have a game against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday, so Hughes will be too busy to get married.
That didn’t stop this story from making it into Forbes, the prestigious money and business publication. Pat Brisson was forced to respond to Forbes who asked if Hughes was indeed taking part in the celebrations.
Arora is marrying Jack Hughes, but it’s not that Jack Hughes. There’s not much we know about this Jack Hughes, but he can’t possibly be the Jack Hughes playing for the Devils on the day of the wedding thousands of miles away.
