The New Jersey Devils have several players who could achieve something special by the end of the season. Halfway through the 2024-25 NHL season, multiple Devils are in striking distance of career highs or NHL awards.

Many of these would be a first for the player, and some, for the franchise. It’ll be exciting to see how these players fare in the second half of the season. Here are three Devils player achievements that can happen this season.

1. Jack Hughes and/or Jesper Bratt could reach 100 points in a season

In the offseason, Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt were two candidates on our list of players who could reach new highs in 2024-25. We expected Hughes to return to form following an injury-riddled season last year, and we anticipated Bratt continuing to elevate his game in the way he has each season. The dynamic peanut butter and jelly duo love being on the ice together, and it shows through their chemistry. Now, the duo could reach a milestone together.

Both Hughes and Bratt currently have 48 points this season. Hughes has 15 goals, while Bratt has 14. Bratt has 34 assists, and Hughes has 33. Both are currently on pace for 92 points. This number has fluctuated depending on hot streaks and cooler periods. While currently below the 100-point pace, both players have shown they can heat up and stack up the points.

No Devil has ever hit 100 points in a season. Hughes came close in 2022-23 with 99 points. Bratt’s highest single season point total was 83 points in 2023-24. His performance last year led us to wonder if he was capable of being a 100-point player. He’s continued to show that he hasn’t reached his ceiling yet. Hughes and/or Bratt could reach the 100 point threshold this season. If they don't, their ceiling may go higher next year.
