The New Jersey Devils are streaking going into their Wednesday night matchup with the Minnesota Wild. Less than 24 hours before, the Devils beat the bricks off the Toronto Maple Leafs, giving Sheldon Keefe his first win against his old team. That makes five wins in a row for Jersey's Team, something they haven't done since January 2023.
The Devils were expecting to get reinforcements back for this game. Seamus Casey was taken off of injured reserve and sent to the Utica Comets. That will eventually act as depth for the Devils if they suffer an injury on the right side of the defense. They also got Stefan Noesen back after an offseason groin injury.
However, as has been the theme of this season, it's one man in, one man out. Despite playing all of last game, the Devils were forced to shuffle the lineup because of an injury at center.
#NEWS: Cody Glass (upper body) will not play tonight.

Glass played a really important role for the Devils this year. After signing a two-year deal worth $2.5 million per season this offseason, Glass has been stapled as the third-line center. He’s center Connor Brown and Arseny Gristyuk, two new arrivals who have been incredible in the bottom six.
With Brown out of the lineup, the Devils put Gristyuk on a line with Nico Hischier and Timo Meier, and they used Dawson Mercer as their third–line center. It’s unfortunate to make a change to the lineup that’s playing so well, but as this team knows, injuries happen.
Since Glass finished the game on Tuesday and there wasn’t really an indication he was injured, the hope is that this is a very short-term situation. We’ll likely hear more from head coach Sheldon Keefe after the game.
After playing Minnesota on Wednesday, the Devils welcome the San Jose Sharks to The Rock on Friday before taking on the Colorado Avalanche at 1 p.m. on Sunday. With so many games in quick succession, the Devils could opt to keep Glass out until next week as a precaution if Mercer works on the third line.
