5. What is your series prediction (winner and in how many games)?
Villano: Unfortunately, we have the Devils' season ending here, but at least they put up a fight. It gets to overtime in Game 7, just to lose in devastating fashion once again.
Parise: The New Jersey Devils are going to struggle to score enough without Jack Hughes. You also can’t undermine the defensive impact of Jonas Siegenthaler’s absence. The Devils have the making of a future wagon, but they are short on depth right now. The Hurricanes take this one in six games.
Bailey: Considering injuries and both teams' recent form, I think the Hurricanes will win in six games.
Borges: The New Jersey Devils have never been swept in their franchise's history. That will not happen this series but it will be the next closest thing. I just hope they put up even a little bit of a fight. Canes in 5.
DeLuca: This rollercoaster season has seen its ups and downs. The whirlwind of emotions will finally come to a close after 6 games here as our hated playoff enemy takes us down again.
Matthews: If all goes well for the Devils, they can squeak this out in seven games.
Streeter: Despite all of this, my prediction is that Carolina wins it in five games.
Rubin: Hurricanes in 6. Please prove me wrong, Devils!
Annaluru: Canes in 5. With the injuries and general poor play since Christmas, the Devils really aren’t in a position to beat this high-powered Hurricane team.
Miller: If the Devils are going to grind out a series victory, it’s going to take seven games. The regular season series was so evenly matched, and neither team had a real blowout in the traditional sense, so I anticipate a very intense back-and-forth series between these teams.
Stanislau: New Jersey in 7.
Garrison: My playoff prediction is that the Devils will win in 7. If the team can find ways to steal games from an excellent Canes team, plus the playoffs usually have seen some unexpected runs, then it would be very happy for all of us.
