Now that we are more than a quarter of the way through the 2024-25 season, let's take a look at one stat each Devils player excels compared to the rest of the NHL.

Erik Haula - Faceoff Percentage (55.1%)

The Devils have been just average in the faceoff dot this season, winning 51.2% of their draws, good for 14th in the league, but it hasn't been for lack of trying by Haula. He's converting on faceoff wins only slightly less often than team-best Nico Hischier (56.1) and far better than the next-best Devils forward (Justin Dowling, 50%)

Paul Cotter - Hits (72)

It was pretty apparent that Paul Cotter was going to provide a physical element that the Devils did not have last season when Tom Fitzgerald added him this summer, as he would've easily lead the Devils with 233 hits last season. However, he's been even better than advertised this season, Cotter is on pace for a career high 246 hits, has played in every single Devils game, and has solidified the Devils' newfound identity as a relentless, tough-to-play-against forechecking team.
