The New Jersey Devils are getting ready to make the 10th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. There are a lot of very good players that are going to be available for them to consider.

There are rumors out there regarding trading the pick. Although that is very possible, it is fair to operate right now as if the plan is to use the selection.

New Jersey had a tough year based on the expectations they had coming in. Injuries, bad goaltending, tough coaching, and inconsistent play from certain players contributed to that but now they are working their way back up.

It could end up being a blessing if they hit on this 10th pick, and they are even better for it in the long run. These are the three players that they should consider if they are still available:

The New Jersey Devils would love to add a player like Berkly Catton

Berkly Catton of the WHL dominated in 2023-24. He played in 68 games for the Spokane Chiefs where he scored 54 goals and had 62 assists for 116 points.

It was a marvelous offensive year for him. The WHL leans offense so these numbers could be enhanced for that reason but there is no doubting his ability to create and score.

If he ever developed into an NHL player, he could have enough skill to play alongside one of Jack Hughes or Nico Hischier. That would certainly be a big boost to him in his career as those guys make everyone around them better.

If Catton is there at 10, he might be worth running up to the podium to select if you're Tom Fitzgerald. He wouldn't make it much farther than that.
