The New Jersey Devils are getting ready to make the 10th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. There are a lot of very good players that are going to be available for them to consider.

There are rumors out there regarding trading the pick. Although that is very possible, it is fair to operate right now as if the plan is to use the selection.

New Jersey had a tough year based on the expectations they had coming in. Injuries, bad goaltending, tough coaching, and inconsistent play from certain players contributed to that but now they are working their way back up.

It could end up being a blessing if they hit on this 10th pick, and they are even better for it in the long run. These are the three players that they should consider if they are still available:

The New Jersey Devils would love to add a player like Berkly Catton

Berkly Catton of the WHL dominated in 2023-24. He played in 68 games for the Spokane Chiefs where he scored 54 goals and had 62 assists for 116 points.

It was a marvelous offensive year for him. The WHL leans offense so these numbers could be enhanced for that reason but there is no doubting his ability to create and score.

If he ever developed into an NHL player, he could have enough skill to play alongside one of Jack Hughes or Nico Hischier. That would certainly be a big boost to him in his career as those guys make everyone around them better.

If Catton is there at 10, he might be worth running up to the podium to select if you're Tom Fitzgerald. He wouldn't make it much farther than that.

The New Jersey Devils could consider Cole Eiserman if he is there

Cole Eiserman is one of the most intriguing prospects in the entire draft. He is considered by many to be the best pure goal scorer in the draft.

He has commitment issues that people worry about but there is no denying his overall skill. The numbers that he has put up speak for themself.

Playing for the National Team Development Program in 2023-24, he scored a remarkable 58 goals. He is sure to take that goal-scoring prowess with him to Boston University in 2024-25 before deciding on when he turns pro.

Imagine a scenario where he becomes a top-flight goal scorer in the NHL one day. Then, think about him with some of the centers that New Jersey has to pair him with.

Boston University is a great place for him to develop as an overall player. By the time he comes to the NHL, teams may very much regret passing on him.

Konsta Helenius is a great player that the New Jersey Devils may want

The New Jersey Devils may love the idea of adding a center like Konsta Helenius. He is a brilliant two-way guy who can play well in every zone.

He has a good shot and can create plays using his intelligence and bursts of speed. The Devils would put players around him who could take advantage of these skills.

The biggest advantage to Helenius's game is his defense. He can shut people down and is aggressive when he doesn't have the puck. He works hard on every shift which is a sign of his willingness to do what he can to help the team win.

New Jersey has Nico Hischier and he is a high-end two-way player. However, adding another one of these guys lower in the lineup is something that the Devils need to do with some of the changes that were forced on them recently.

This team has a lot of potential and oddsmakers really like them in 2024-25. Now, adding another high-end prospect would do wonders for them and this is their chance. They hope that this is the last time they are picking in the top ten for a long time.
