Tom Brady spends time with New Jersey Devils, but he also brings a Devils enemy along
We didn't have Tom Brady spending time at the New Jersey Devils practice rink on our bingo card for 2024, but that's apparently what happened. The GOAT went to the home of fellow GOAT Martin Brodeur, but he brought a surprising guest that used to be considered public enemy number one for the Devils.
Tom Brady is considered the best football player to ever hit the turf. He was the quarterback who led teams to seven Super Bowls, six in New England and one in Tampa. However, he wasn't always considered a supreme athlete like former teammates Randy Moss and Richard Seymour. His NFL Draft video is funny at this point, and his ridiculous diet is the sum of roasting. Avacado ice cream? Can we not ruin man's greatest inventions?
Brady is someone who many think could play other sports. He was drafted as a catcher to the Montreal Expos. He was a three-sport athlete in high school, adding basketball at Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, California. However, he's never been a hockey player. So, he threw on some skates and headed to Newark to give it a shot.
The premise of the video is Tom Brady trying out some new sports at the behest of his son. Basketball is obviously a little easier for him, but he gave hockey a shot. He put on the pads and laced up his skates in a Prudential Center locker room before hitting the ice.
It was interesting to see Brady on the ice with the Devils logo all around him. He's used to seeing championship banners, so the Devils three Stanley Cup banners must make Brady feel like he's home.
Brady didn't come alone. He brought one of the Devils biggest enemies of all time. Former Toronto Maple Leafs star and notorious cheap shot artist Tie Domi joined Brady on the ice. He even wore a Devils t-shirt, which seems like sacrilege after what he did to Scott Niedermayer in the 2001 playoffs.
Brady did pretend to fight Domi, which we appreciate. It was just funny to see Brady put on the skates and attempt to play some hockey. Sometimes, we just have to have a little fun. And a GOAT like Tom Brady should have fun where another GOAT, Martin Brodeur, used to dominate the league.
