On today’s New Jersey Devils Daily, Ray Shero signs everyone not named Damon Severson, who could fight Nico Hischier for the Calder Trophy and where did Lou Lamoriello lose the fanbase.

Pucks and Pitchforks takes a look at the New Jersey Devils main signing today; Stefan Noesen. The former first-round pick played much better once he put on a red and black jersey. He was getting very little ice time in Anaheim. When the Devils claimed him off waivers he finally found his scoring touch. If he is able to stick on the Devils for the full 82 game season next year, expect a big jump in his numbers on a very affordable contract.

Chris Ryan with NJ.com takes a rapid reaction to the other four signings the Devils made today. Shero signed Blake Coleman, Blake Pietila, Ben Thomson and Kevin Rooney to deals today. One interesting tidbit is Pietila was the only player signed today to get a two-year deal. Everyone else signed a one-year, two-way deal for between $650,000 and $660,000.

Ryan also wrote about Nico Hischier’s competition for the Calder Trophy next season. Obviously, the main competition will be in a certain, injury-prone forward in Philadelphia, but some surprises could still be in the mix. Dylan Strome is coming off a big season in the OHL, and has some NHL experience under his belt. He could have a big season in Arizona. Tyler Jost could also play a big role on a rebuilding Colorado Avalanche team.
