New Jersey Devils 2015-2016 Schedule Review
The New Jersey Devils 2015-2016 schedule has officially been released and we are one step closer to next season. The Ray Shero/John Hynes era officially begins Friday October 9th when the Devils open up at home versus the Winnipeg Jets. The New Jersey Devils 2015-2016 schedule has them playing their 1st of 12 back to back games in Washington for their home opener on Saturday, October 10th. Below are some more highlights and notes from the schedule:

The New Jersey Devils 2015-2016 schedule features their longest road trip which is 4 games long – from January 10
th
to the 16
th.
During that road trip they will visit Minnesota, St Louis, Colorado and Arizona.
At three different times this season the Devils will have a 3 game home stand but don’t have any stretches at home longer than that. The last of those stretches is the last 3 games of the season which could be big if the Devils are still in playoff contention then.
There are 4 home and home match-ups on the New Jersey Devils 2015-2016 schedule. They’ll play the Islanders (Oct 31 & Nov 3), Canadiens (Nov 27 & Nov 28), Hurricanes (Dec 29 & Dec 30) and Blue Jackets (Mar 19 & Mar 20).

The New Jersey Devils 2015-2016 schedule also feature some more family friendly start times. The Devils will have 2 Saturday afternoon home games (Oct 31 vs Islanders and Feb 6 vs Capitals). They’ll also have one Sunday afternoon game (Feb 14 vs Kings) and two Sunday 5pm games (Nov 8 vs Canucks and Mar 6 vs Penguins).
The Rangers come into the Prudential Center 2 times this year , both in February (2nd and 23rd). The New Jersey Devils 2015-2016 schedule has them visiting MSG Oct 18th and Feb 8th.
The Flyers also only visit the Rock 2 times, Dec 4th and Feb 16th and the Devils will be in Philly on Oct 29th and Feb 13th.
More From Pucks & Pitchforks: Why The Devils Shouldn’t Try To Trade Up In The Draft
The New Jersey Devils 2015-2016 schedule has their first regular season game in Brooklyn slated for Nov 3rd and as mentioned earlier is the 2nd half of a back to back so that should be a fun first game. The Devils are also in Brooklyn on Dec 13th and the Isles are in Newark on Oct 31st and Feb 19th.
The New Jersey Devils 2015-2016 schedule’s busiest divisional month is February as 9 of their 13 games are against teams in the Metropolitan Division.

The current Stanley Cup Champions visit the Rock on Friday November 6th. Assuming the draft goes as expected, Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers will be in New Jersey on February 9th and Jack Eichel and the Buffalo Sabres visit on April 5th.
No promotional schedule has been released yet but my speculation on a few promotional dates:
Oct 31st vs Islanders – Saturday afternoon game on Halloween, I would expect some sort of kid promotion for that game.
Mar 17th vs Wild – if tradition holds this should be the retro jersey game where the Devils don the old red and green against the team that has kept red and green jerseys alive. Oh yeah and the return of Zach Parise which always creates a great atmosphere in the arena.
Apr 9th vs Maple Leafs – Fan appreciation night.
For me, the date I am circling is Tuesday November 10th against the Blues. No word from the Devils on whether they are retiring Brodeur’s number this year but if they are that would be the perfect choice.
