4. Miles Wood

Honestly, Miles Wood could be on the cusp of a very, very good season. We’ve said it many times before, but if Wood’s hands could catch up to his feet, he’d be a superstar. Obviously, that’s a long shot, but if Wood keeps working on his puck handling then he could become a 30-goal scorer.

Wood broke out with 19 goals last season. He was a firecracker in the lineup that honestly deserved more shifts than he was given. It was almost like bringing in a hype guy to get the team going. However, he was worth so much more than that.

Last season, Wood went through ups and downs. In the last two months of the season, including the playoffs, Wood only had three goals and two assists. Going into March, he had 16 goals. It seemed like 20 goals would be an easy goal to reach. However, he didn’t. The Devils coaches will need to keep Wood confident and playing with a chip on his shoulder. Then, he could break out even more this season.
