The AHL just announced a new deal for viewing their games. It’s extremely affordable and easily accessed, making life easy for those trying to watch the Binghamton Devils.

The NHL has always had a decent deal for the NHL viewing package. Sometimes it may have been a little too expensive, but it showed every game in HD. The blackouts are pretty awful, as it seems like the NHL finds a way to turn your game off. Either way, it was a fairly easy way to watch your favorite team no matter what.

Now, the AHL has a similar program, but better. How is it better you ask? Well, because it’s much, much cheaper.

The NHL package costs about $109.99 to watch just one team, or $139.99 to see every game all season long. Meanwhile, the AHL package drops that to $79.99 for every game or just 60 bucks for one team.

More from Pucks and Pitchforks

This should be an especially interesting season for the Binghamton Devils. With Michael McLeod, Joey Anderson, Nick Lappin and Cam Johnson the future is now in the AHL. They will likely be the future of the New Jersey Devils. For 60 bucks, that’s not a bad price for the entire season.

I’ve seen a much bigger interest in the AHL game over the last few months. A lot of it has to do with the level of prospects that are coming to the minor leagues. Now, Devils fans have an outlet to watch their favorite prospects go against the minors of other teams.

Beyond that, the Devils made a concerted effort to make their minor league affiliate much better. They signed players like John Ramage, Eric Gryba, Kurt Gabriel and Eric Tangradi. Those players could have a cup of coffee in the NHL, but they are here to help Binghamton.

Adding the vets to the prospects coming up with the players already there, it could be a fun season to watch. The AHL product is getting better, and now so is the ability to watch it.
