As ugly as the 2018-19 season was for the New Jersey Devils, it is always fun to look back at how bad our predictions for the season were.

Before the 2018-19 season started, I had some predictions go up on certain things that I thought would happen this last season for the New Jersey Devils. As far as a team, it did not go how anyone really thought. Injuries made it a really tough season and they played most of it without the reigning Hart Trophy winner, Taylor Hall.

They came in last place in the Metropolitan Division one year after a surprise appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Injuries did happen, but good teams overcome injury and the Devils weren’t able to do that. It was a very disappointing season, but everybody still realizes that the future is really bright. Now they have the number-one overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, so maybe it was a blessing in disguise as we move forward.

It may have been worth it to be completely wrong in most of my predictions if it means more long term success and the better of this team.

I will look back at my 2018-19 Preseason Predictions blog that I wrote before the season officially got going and go over what I got right, and what I got wrong. It will be a fun exercise to see how I did and how off I was on this team. There are a few predictions that I was off on, but who knows maybe these things end up happening this season. , Let’s take a look how we did:
