New Jersey Devils: 5 Regular Season Games To Be Most Excited For
The NHL schedules are officially out! Now we can break it down and see which games we are the most excited for in the 2019-20 season.
The 2019-20 NHL Schedules are out and it is time to get prematurely excited for the upcoming season! A lot of things have happened in a positive manner for the New Jersey Devils in the last few weeks. Some additions have been made to this team and we all expect them to be a much better team going forward.
These are the five games we are most excited for going into the season:
1. October 4th, 2019 vs Winnipeg Jets
The home opener of course! This will be the first time that P.K. Subban take the ice at The Rock as Devils players in a real game. It is also just the excitement of the season being back in full swing. Winnipeg is a great team so it will be a great challenge to kick of the 2019-20 season.
2. October 10th vs Edmonton Oilers
Just a few days later the Edmonton Oilers will make their only trip to the Prudential Center and it will be the first time that Connor McDavid and Jack Hughes face off. Hughes has gotten “mini McDavid” labels put on him by some people but that could be because they are both dynamic centers. Either way, the matchup has all the hype and it is going to be so fun to watch.
3. October 17th vs New York Rangers

Remember the Jack Hughes vs Kaapo Kakko debate? Yeah, that’s not going away any time soon. It finally will begin on NHL ice however, when the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils get together for the first time in this one. They will have many matchups for the next decade or more, and this is the one that kicks it all off. The Hudson River Rivalry is so back.
4. December 7th @ Nashville Predators
This will be P.K. Subban’s return to Nashville as a visitor for the first time since they acquired him from the Montreal Canadiens in 2016. It was emotional when he returned to Montreal for the first time and it is bound to be again once he goes back to Nashville. This Predators team will be very good once again so it will also be some great hockey and a good test for the Devils.
5. February 18th @ St. Louis Blues
This will be the first of two times that the Devils get to see the St. Louis Blues as the defending Stanley Cup Champions. It is always fun to see your team measure up against the team that won it all and this year will be no different. The Blues will get the best from every team they play this year and the Devils want to get to that level. When the Devils go to St. Louis, expect a great game from all the stars.
These are just five highlights of what promises to be a really fun 2019-20 season for the New Jersey Devils. It is a season that we head into filled with intrigue, passion, and most importantly hope. Is it October yet?
