Playoffs

The Binghamton Devils are in a close race for the Calder Cup Playoffs. They are right there with the Toronto Marlies and Syracuse Crunch fighting for a spot in the dance. The big team isn’t anywhere close to the playoffs but the AHL Devils have a legit shot. If they make it, that is great news for the organization. It should be important for every team in the league to see their top minor league affiliate in the Calder Cup Playoffs.

Obviously, the clout of the Calder Cup Playoffs isn’t the same as the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but they are still extremely important. This would give them a very important experience that can eventually help them in the pros. Most would agree that they still matter, so those who have gone deep will have gained some valuable playoff experience. Every player participating in the AHL playoffs wants to win really bad which is a good thing.

If Binghamton makes it to the playoffs and goes on a run, they will have more playoff experience than most of the players on the NHL team. That could really go a long way in helping everyone if they ever do make it to the NHL on a full-time basis.
