New Jersey Devils: 3 Trade Packages for Mitch Marner
Trade Two
The New Jersey Devils have some high hopes for Jesper Boqvist and it is justified. He is a highly skilled player that can do a lot of impressive things with the puck. He isn’t as talented as Marner, but their styles might be a bit more similar than people think. Boqvisit would be a nice forward to insert into a Maple Leafs lineup that seems to need a little bit of a spark outside of their usual suspects.
Kevin Bahl is a big defenseman that the Devils acquired in the Taylor Hall trade. He is going to have a chance at making the NHL team in 2020-21 and a team like Toronto could absolutely use a prospect like that. They seem like they are very soft on the puck and easy to play against at times. This could be just the piece they need if they are going to move one of their forwards.
Where this package would hold the most value is the Vancouver Canucks 1st-round pick that the Devils acquired in the Blake Coleman trade. This 2020 NHL Draft is very deep and whoever makes a selection in the 1st round has a chance to add a very good player. They will need to develop him properly, but the talent is there to choose from. If the Leafs wanted to add another very good young player to their farm, taking this pick would go a long way in doing that.
