Trade Two

This deal is similar to the previous deal in terms of worth. Dunn is coming to New Jersey, which is the centerpiece of the deal for the Devils. They would also be getting Tyler Bozak which would be a really nice piece to add to their bottom six. They have Nico Hischier and Jack Hughes to be their top two centers for the next decade or more. Adding Bozak as their third line center would be awesome.

The Blues would be smart to let Bozak go in a deal like this. He’s on a $5 million cap hit, which is just too much for them to handle. That would make signing Alex Pietrangelo much easier for them if they were able to offload Bozak. Meanwhile, the Devils would have an easy time fitting his salary on their books right now. They can afford it and it would even make them deeper for the year that he is there.

For the Blues, they are getting a few assets here that are cheap. Joey Anderson is a fine bottom-six guy who would be great on the fourth-line of the Blues. Sometimes he gets a bit overhyped by Devils fans but there is no doubt that he can be a good NHL player on a good team. They would also have a chance to make something of that fourth round pick as well. If you have to make this trade to get Dunn on the Devils, you do it.
