Looking Lost Against The Arizona Coyotes

There are a lot of teams that usually stay at the bottom of the standings for a long time. The Arizona Coyotes are a perfect example of that. This year has been no different for them as they have the second-worst record in the league. It’s even hitting them off the ice with the city of Glendale fighting to force the Yotes to move.

So how did the Devils lose to this team with all the problems? Well, to start, the Devils scored the first goal just 7 minutes into the game on the powerplay by Hischier. While it means the powerplay has improved, the rest of the game was pure torture for the fans to watch. As I mentioned earlier, Mackenzie Blackwood was out at the beginning of the year. When Blackwood came back to play, it was clear that Blackwood’s injury still lingered on his playing ability.

In the second period, Dysin Mayo scored for the Coyotes to tie the game. Then the Coyotes scored two more goals in the second period by Lawson Crouse and Clayton Keller. While Crouse’s goal was on a net mount scramble, Keller’s goal was shot from inside when the Coyotes set up, and it hit the post and went in.

To make matters worse, the Coyotes only had eight shots the entire game when they went up 3-1. What’s even worse was that the Devils did nothing to counter their goals. They allowed the Coyotes to outskate them the entire game. After adding one more in the third by Johan Larsson, the Coyotes went on to win the game 4-1 on 17 shots.

Despite the Devils outshooting them, they lost to one of the worst teams in the league. While Blackwood was a big problem and eventually would get shut down, there are zero excuses for this poor, lazy effort put on by them. You’re asking for Ruff to get fired after a performance like that, but he is still around. They looked lost, and if the season ends, it wouldn’t surprise me if Ruff is no longer coach by then. Maybe then fans won’t have to see losses and effort like this ever again.
