2026 Stanley Cup odds released: Where do New Jersey Devils land on betting markets?

The Florida Panthers are the 2025 Stanley Cup champions, but they are not the favorites to win it all in 2026. Who is the better favorite, and where do the New Jersey Devils finish in Stanley Cup odds?

The Stanley Cup has been awarded to the Florida Panthers. After a grinding Stanley Cup Playoffs, where the Panthers beat the Tampa Bay Lightning, Toronto Maple Leafs, Carolina Hurricanes, and Edmonton Oilers, they get the fruits of their labor and a second Stanley Cup championship ring. The Panthers had a great team that was made even better with in-season additions of Brad Marchand and Seth Jones.

As is tradition, as soon as the clock hit zero on the Stanley Cup Final, the odds for next year’s Cup Final came out. Most books have the odds close enough, but there’s a surprise at the top.

According to The Athletic (paywall), the Edmonton Oilers are the favorites to win the 2026 Stanley Cup. Their odds are +650, otherwise known as 6.5/1 odds. What that means is if someone bet $100 on the Oilers to win the Stanley Cup, they would win $650 (plus their $100 back).

The Panthers' three-peat is next in odds, sitting at +700. We haven’t seen a three-peat in the NHL since the New York Islanders of the 1980s. The Tampa Bay Lightning had a shot, but they lost in the Stanley Cup Final in 2022.

Some might be surprised to see the Colorado Avalanche next at +800. They were knocked out in the first round by the Dallas Stars, who are actually behind them at +850.

The Carolina Hurricanes are the first Metropolitan Division team on the list. They sit at +900, as many think they are going to push their chips on the table this offseason after falling short in the Eastern Conference Finals. One would expect the Hurricanes to also be the favorites to win the Metropolitan Division next season.

Where do the New Jersey Devils land on 2026 Stanley Cup betting odds?

A surprise to many, the New Jersey Devils are the next Metropolitan team in odds, eighth overall. They sit at +1800 to win the title, ahead of teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs (+2000), Los Angeles Kings (+2000), and the reigning Metropolitan Division winner, the Washington Capitals (+2800).

The New York Rangers are sitting at +3000 with a tumultuous offseason upcoming. They already traded Chris Kreider, and they are reportedly looking to move Mika Zibanejad.  The other Metro teams are even lower down the list (Islanders +6600, Blue Jackets +8000, Flyers +10000, Penguins +20000).

The Devils are coming into this offseason with a little less hype than they had last offseason. They were +1300 after the 2024 Stanley Cup to win this year’s Cup. They are only slightly lower, but still lower. Vegas does expect the Devils to be better next year, as an eighth-place finish in the NHL would have them at least in the second round of the playoffs.
