3 Hughes Brothers storylines that could still impact New Jersey Devils in 2025-26

The New Jersey Devils are looking to make major impacts to their roster this offseason, but the conversation around them will always surround Jack and Luke Hughes. Now, they are adding Quinn Hughes rumors to the mix.

The New Jersey Devils fanbase has officially moved from playoff talk to offseason talk about losing to the Carolina Hurricanes in five games, ending their Stanley Cup Playoffs journey. Now, the fanbase is looking to fill their conscience with offseason hockey talk. The main conversation is surrounding what Tom Fitzgerald could do this offseason.

Could is the key word there. Sure, an early exit from the playoffs sucked. But, there are still storylines for Devils fans to keep up with this offseason. This is mostly due in part to the fact that one of the most famous National Hockey League families is two-thirds apart of the New Jersey franchise team.

And with the fact that the 2025-26 season will be here before you know it, here's three of my favorite storylines relates to the Hughes family that all NHL fans should be attention to.

3. Could Quinn Hughes Become a Devil?

While eldest brother Quinn Hughes is currently the captain of the Vancouver Canucks, that could quickly change. His contract expires in 2027, and all three brothers have stated on multiple occasions that they'd love to share the ice together.

The economics and the business side of the NHL continue to drive team decision-making. A sure-fire way for the league to make money (as evidenced by the popularity of the Hughes Bowl) would be to ensure that Luke, Jack and Quinn Hughes are all on the same team as soon as possible.
