Lead Writer: Drew Friedman

I’m Drew Friedman, 17 years old and entering my senior year of high school in New York City.  I have been a Devils fan for about a decade, and the Stanley Cup run in 2003 was unlike anything I have ever experienced in my life (as an avid sports fan).  I’ve always admired the type of defensive, pre-lockout style hockey the Devils have mastered in the past, and will often criticize the post-lockout changes that have been brought about in the NHL.  My favorite Devils moment (and sports moment, really) came during that storied ’03 playoff run, when Grant Marshall beat John Grahame on a rebound to send us to the Eastern Conference Finals…I still remember screaming as an exhausted nine-year-old at around midnight.  I often attend games at the Rock, and should be able to attend at least 15 or so this year (usually weekend games).  You can find me on twitter (@ZachandKovy917), where I would be happy to talk/debate Devils hockey (and anything else, for that matter).

I am a 17 year old entering my senior year in high school. Born and raised in New York City, I fell in love with the sports world. I consider myself a “die-hard” Yankees fan, as well as a Giants and Knicks fan. However, my love for them doesn’t compare to my passion for the New Jersey Devils. I’ve been to countless amount of games at the Prudential Center (enough games that the usher in my section knows me personally). My proudest moment to be a Devil fan (besides winning the Stanley Cup) was being at Martin Brodeur’s 552 career win. I have hosted an online Sports Radio show, discussing all different sports topics. I spend my summers working at a camp in Pomona, New York, counseling with seven year-old boys. I enjoy a good spirited sports debate.
