Team USA stars are excited to play alongside the Hughes brothers at 4 Nations Face-Off

Pucks & Pitchforks had the chance to speak with both Charlie McAvoy and Adam Fox regarding some of their teammates in 4 Nations Face-Off. The tournament is scheduled to start in February.

The Hughes brothers will be three of the biggest headliners for Team USA during February's 4 Nations Face-Off. Quinn Hughes is the reigning Norris Trophy winner and captain for the Vancouver Canucks, while his brother Jack Hughes continues to be electric for the New Jersey Devils. Even though their youngest brother, Luke Hughes, didn't make the roster, his future is still bright.

Jack Hughes has registered 38 points (12 goals, 26 assists) in 32 games, while Quinn Hughes has 34 points (seven goals, 27 assists) in 28 games. Along with the Tkachuk brothers, the Hughes dynamic will be compelling from a chemistry and skills standpoint. Pucks & Pitchforks recently attended Team USA's virtual press conference and asked Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy his thoughts on the two sets of brothers.

"The odds are already small to make it this far. [Let alone] be able to play in this tournament with your brother. I'm sure both the Tkachuk and Hughes families are extremely proud. I'm sure they're [also] very excited. I've got to know both of them a little bit. I think it's unique that all four of them have different personalities. They all bring something special to the table. It's going to help with the chemistry a ton having those guys there. All four of them are great people. That's so cool for them and their family."

Similar to Quinn Hughes, New York Rangers defenseman Adam Fox is also a previous Norris Trophy winner (2021). Echoing what McAvoy said, Fox also expressed his excitement about playing alongside the Hughes and Tkachuk brothers.

"The Hughes brothers are about as fun as anyone to watch and hard to play against. Same goes for the Tkachuks and a whole list of guys that you play against and wish that they were on your team...It'll be more fun to play with them than against them."

Team USA should not be underestimated in this tournament. Not only do they have both the Hughes and Tkachuk brothers, but they also have Auston Matthews (who scored 69 goals last season) and Connor Hellebuyck (2024 Vezina Trophy winner) as part of their squad. Despite Team Canada having players like Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, and Sidney Crosby, Team USA has a legitimate chance to give them a run for their money come February.
